General Design Company ("we," "us," or "our") builds AI-enabled home robotics and hardware, including our first product, ran-d-2. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit generaldesigncompany.com, sign up for updates, or contact us. ran-d-2 is not yet available for sale; this policy covers our website only.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you join our updates list, we collect your email address. When you submit our contact form, we collect your first and last name, email address, an optional phone number, and any message you choose to include. We only collect what you choose to give us.
Information Collected Automatically
If we have enabled analytics, we may collect basic, aggregate usage information (such as pages visited and general device or browser type) to understand how the site is used. We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage so it persists between visits; that preference never leaves your browser.
Third-Party Fonts
We load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address and browser information. See Google Fonts Privacy for details.
How We Use Your Information

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to run this site, and only as needed to operate it:
- Cloudflare — to host our website and to deliver the notification and update emails described above.
- Google Fonts — to serve the web fonts used on this site.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or if we believe doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
A Note on ran-d-2 and Privacy
Privacy is a core design goal of ran-d-2. The device is being designed to communicate with your phone or receiver over a private, encrypted tailnet rather than routing your family's audio and video through a third-party cloud. When ran-d-2 ships, it will have its own product privacy documentation describing exactly what the device does and does not collect. This website policy does not govern the device.
Data Retention
We keep the information you submit for as long as needed to provide updates and respond to you, and we delete it when it is no longer needed or when you ask us to.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or unsubscribe from updates, at any time by emailing us at mail@generaldesigncompany.com. If you live in a jurisdiction with specific data-privacy laws, you may have additional rights under those laws.
Children's Privacy
Our website is intended for adults (for example, parents and caregivers) and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site. If we learn we have, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
